AGRICULTURE, WEST VIRGINIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF
The West Virginia Department of Agriculture received funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to pay costs associated with the distribution of USDA foods donated for use in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Such costs include (but are not limited to) storage, transportation, handling, processing, and distribution of such foods; as well as costs associated with determining and verifying beneficiary eligibility, record keeping, auditing, and other administrative procedures required for program participation. To date, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture has:

Less than 1% of the funds were used to administer the program at the state-level, while the remaining funding was distributed to the Food Banks. |
