The Community Health Center, Inc. will use funding under the Increased Demand for Services program to 1) furnish and equip a total of sixteen new medical operatories and related patient support common areas and 2) recruit and support (2) new primary care provider and their related ancillary health care staff. Together, this project will result in seven new positions and the capacity for care for an additional 2200 patients annually. This expansion in capacity, utilization, and patient population will take place at the CHC-New Britain and the CHC of Meriden sites of CHC, Inc.

Quarterly Activities/Project Description For the quarter of January 1 through March 31, 2011, CHCI primary care teams are continuing to see new uninsured patients at the CHCI Meriden and CHCI New Britain.

Description of Jobs Created For the quarter ending March 31, 2011, the CHCI Meriden site continues at full staffing for the IDS funding. Dr. Daisy Wynn, MD, continues in her role as a primary care provider. Debra Tobin, RN, is the .50 FTE RN. Aislinn Edwards is the 1 FTE Medical Assistant and 1 FTE Receptionist are funded by the IDS grant. This completes the staffing projected under the IDS funding for CHCI-Meriden. For CHCI-New Britain, Dr. Syed Hassan serves as primary care provider, Katie Jobs is the .50 RN. Dora Chavez is the 1 FTE Medical Assistant. Carlos Cuevas is the 1 FTE Receptionist. These are funded by the IDS grant. CHCI New Britain is now at full staffing for the IDS funding. CHCI has completely expended all of the IDS funding that was awarded.
