Project Activities Description Water Supply and Irrigation Systems
Quarterly Activities/Project Description Hydrogeologic and engineering services includes the following tasks: 1. Conduct safe yield test for replacement well 2. Perform water quality sample collection and reporting for GWUDI in accordance with CTDPH. 3. Obtain well use approval from CTDPH for replacement well SG 1A and 7 new wells. 4. Provide oversight to well drillers for the installation of test wells for the purpose of siting new production wells 5. Update the Level A aquifer mapping of the Well Field?s stratified drift aquifer in accordance with CTDEEP regulations. including: a. Prepare data collection plan for submittal to, and approval by, CTDEEP b. Provide oversight for installation of as many as 10 new observation wells c. Obtain a temporary discharge authorization from CTDEEP for the pumping tests d. Pumping test e. Level A model update f. Submittal of updated Level A model and mapping to CTDEEP for review and approval 6. Submit a water diversion permit application to CTDEEP for the anticipated yield of 1.4 MGD from the Well Field 7. Site design and permit preparation for the construction of the well treatment building and associated utilities and other appurtenances. Following the completion of the construction of the wells and treatment building, there continues to be interaction with the CTDEEP in support of the diversion permit. The diversion permit is required before any of the new wells can be used. Also assisting Town with minor improvements including, adding 10 transducers to monitor water levels wells and manage subcontractor who is making programming changes to well field control unit to fine tune operation of three wells.
