These employees hold Masters and other advanced degrees, and the increase is consistent with the purpose of ensuring that Head Start salaries remain competitive enough to be able to retain these highly qualified and talented staff members and reduce employee turnover. The funds were also used to provide a one-time educational incentive to those employees who completed 20 online assigned courses. Additionally these funds paid for quality improvements to all of the sites, including HVAC upgrades, electrical improvements, new classroom supplies, some new plumbing fixtures and playground upgrades.
