A state program to provide independent living services to older individuals who are blind, conduct activities that will improve or expand such services and help improve public understanding of the problems of such individuals. ARRA funds have been awarded to 13 Independent Living Older Individuals who are Blind (OIB) providers to enhance and expand services to older individuals who are blind and visually impaired to enable them to continue to live independently in their homes.
Funding is being used for OIB program development and improvement to stimulate independent living, empowerment and full inclusion of older blind individuals who are blind and to provide expanded services to unserved and underserved populations.
