CHILDREN & FAMILIES, FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
The Florida Department of Children and Families has disbursed HPRP funds to 26 sub grantees throughout Florida, who cover 62 out of 67 counties. Each sub grantee has an individual implementation plan to meet the needs of its community. Each of the sub grantee's HPRP budget may include financial assistance to help individuals stay in their home, housing location and stabilization services for the homeless or those in danger of becoming homeless, and data collection and administrative costs ( up to 2.5%). Budgets are created by sub-grantee and approved by the department.
As of September 30, 2011, 14,095 persons and 7,755 households were served by the HPRP program since July 15, 2009. Of the total persons served, 13,160 have left the program as of September 30, 2011. In addition, as of the end of September, Florida's sub grantees have drawn 99% of the $21,507,109.00. All sub grantees are moving forward to fully expend the grant by June 30, 2012.
