| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
During this quarter our work focused on final field testing and verification of equipment performance. Previously, modifications to the equipment were made to: (1) improve cooling of the instrument control box and (2) prevent damage due to hot swapping of cables. The equipment was field testing at a test site in Kansas under ambient temperatures of 90 to 100 degrees. The temperature of the control box remained within operational limits and no adverse effects on the operation of the equipment were observed. Also, during this quarter the equipment was tested under the highest duty cycle conditions anticipated for this equipment. Measurements were successfully performed at one-minute intervals over a 24 hour period followed by 18 hours of data collection at 2-minute intervals. The need for improved data storage capacity in the field was also recognized and addressed this quarter. Slight modifications were made to the field equipment to increase data storage capacity. This project is now fully completed and the equipment is operating as expected. |
