SISTEMA UNIVERSITARIO ANA G. MENDEZ, INC.
The mission of the UT School of Health Sciences (SHS) is to prepare excellent human resources in the health sciences with innovative academic offerings across the curriculum who can respond properly and rapidly to the needs of local and global communities. Clear statements of expected results for the School?s students are derived from the mission, philosophy and goals/objectives of its programs.
The SHS faculty and UT administration officials have identified the students concerns related to financial support as a priority. The dilemma has been why these students do not have sufficient financial aid to fully follow the curricular content, purchase their books and fulfill other academic needs if they all qualify for a PELL Grant. The data indicated that students are taking longer to complete their required courses and by the time they begin to take the specialty courses they have already exhausted their PELL Grant funds.
The ARRA funds benefit our students so they can focus on their educational goals.
The socioeconomic level of our students makes each day for them is a challenge. With the allocation of these resources students use in their direct and indirect costs.
These programs help the growth of our society in an area as delicate as it is the health of our country.
