Title: AIWW North Disposal Areas Subsurface Investigations Drilling and Sampling and Geotechnical Services, Description: As part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Water Way (AIWW) disposal areas for dredged material are needed to be raised or repaired. Subsurface investigations are required for the purpose of characterizing the types of soils and the rocks, if encountered, that exist at existing disposal areas. Methods of investigation should accurately locate changes in soil strata as well define any rock types encountered. Methods that are to be utilized are standard splitspoon vertical drilling, augering, rock coring, or a geoprobe mounted on a vehicle. Vehicles shall be suited for travel in wet or dry silt or sand material. The existing disposal area dikes will need to be raised in order to dispose of the next two dredging cycles. The A-E shall perform all geotechnical analyses necessary to develop a design for two dredge cycles for the disposal areas.
