The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Aquaculture received funds through the 2008 Aquaculture Grant Program (AGP). The funds provided assistance to eligible aquaculture producers that suffered financial losses associated with high feed input costs during the 2008 calendar year. The Florida aquaculture producers are eligible for the 2008 AGP if certified pursuant to Chapter 597, Florida Statutes, Florida Aquaculture Policy Act, which requires the annual certification of all individuals culturing aquatic species under controlled conditions during the time period covered by this grant. The producer must have been in operation and certified during the calendar years 2008 and 2009, and currently in operation and certified in 2009 as of the date of their AGP application.
