Quarterly Activities/Project Description The City of Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science (Museum) opened to the public November 1, 2012. Due to setbacks experienced by some of the contractors on the project, two specific items were left outstanding when the building opened. One of those was the installation of the enclosure for the electrical componenets of the helical wind turbine. The selected vendor had some delays in production of the model necessary for the Museum and during the past quarter coordination between the vendor and contractor progressed, but we are still waiting for the delivery of the enclosure. The second outstanding item was the final testing of the software to the energy dashboard display, which was worked on during this past quarter and will be finished up in the early weeks of the coming quarter. Input was taken from patrons of the Museum as to what type of information they would like to see displayed. Because the interior and exterior dashboards will display how much energy is generated by both the solar array and wind turbine systems, the display will not be hooked up until installation of the electrical enclosure for the larger turbine system is completed.
