TRANSPORTATION, NORTH DAKOTA DEPT OF
To invest in public transportation. These funds will finance six transit storage facilities to be located in Minot, Valley City, Dickinson, Williston, Watford City, and Rolla. Buses are currently stored outdoors. Indoor storage will protect electronic components from extreme weather and extend useful-lives of vehicles which will provide long-term economic benefits. Projects were bid in compliance with FTA regulations. Construction is on schedule for 3 of the buildings and behind schedule due to flooding and wet conditions on the other 3 buildings.
Purchase two new over-the-road coaches to expand fleet. Coaches will be used in North Dakota's Intercity system. These buses were procured in accordance with FTA's procurement requirements. The vehicles have been delivered and contract is complete.
Purchase scheduling and dispatching software that will allow for computer-based dispatch, integration with GPS and GIS mapping, and automated route planning. Software will produce reports for ridership, destinations, time-based coordination, delays for pickups, cancellations, no-shows, on-time status, and quality control of the transit service provided. Completed training for software purchase. Software contract complete.

Rolla Transit Storage. Facility is complete. Open house was held on January 16, 2012. Project work is completed, waiting for final punch list and other paperwork.

Valley City Storage Facility is progressing is complete. Open house was November 23, 2011. Project work is completed, waiting for final punch list and other paperwork.
Dickinson Transit Storage Facility is is complete. Open house was held on May 1, 2012. Project work is completed, waiting for final punch list and other paperwork.
Williston Transit Storage Facility is behind schedule due to difficulty finding laborers due to the local economy. Project work is completed, waiting for final punch list and other paperwork. Open house to be held in Spring 2013.
