The aqueduct turnout facilities (Phase A)Construction is 100% complete.
Construction for the conveyance pipeline (Phase B) is at 100% complete.
Construction for Phase C-1 is 100% complete.
MWA staff continues to work with the San Bernardino County Flood Control District on the joint use of the proposed flood control detention basin, where the percolation facilities will be constructed. A water Spreading Agreement with the County has been approved. Acquisition of property for the recharge area is continuing. Permits for the recharge area are being pursued. Construction of the County detention basin is anticipated to begin by the end of the 4th quarter of 2013. |

| Infrastructure Purpose and Rationale |
The Oro Grande Wash Groundwater Recharge Project will provide replenishment of ground water to the over drafted regional aquifer in the Upper Mojave River Basin which has been in overdraft since the 1930's. An estimated 6,000 AF of State Water Project water will be introduced to this location annually through a turnout, control facility, and pipeline. This supplemental water will help reverse the overdrafting and stablize the water resources of the area. |
