COUNTY OF, PALM BEACH
Palm Beach County was allocated $2,823,871 under the HPRP which was authorized by Title XII American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The funds will be utilized to provide homeless prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless and to rapid re-house persons who are homeless as defined by Section 103 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) Resolution R-2007-0799
granted the authority for the County Administrator to sign all documents related to application for and implementation of the HPRP program. On July 14, 2009, U.S. HUD executed the Agreement with the County
and on July 27, 2009, the County Administrator counter executed the Agreement which provided HPRP grant funding
to provide homeless assistance to Palm Beach County residents.

The funds were utilized to provide homeless prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless and to rapidly re- house persons who are homeless as defined by Section 103 of the McKinney- Vento Homeless Assistance Act. During the 3rd quarter, the program recognized funding that was expended during the second quarter, which ended on June 30, 2012. All funds were expended by July 13, 2012, however a refund of $179.00 was received from Florida Power and Light in connection with a payment on behalf of a client. As this amount was received after the deadline for the grant, this amount was returned to HUD by Palm Beach County in September 2012. |
