Utnilzing grant funds to replace work statioins, learning centers, conference and meting rooms for 49 sworn police personnel. The funds are expected to enhance our public meeting rooms and provide adequate space for the exchange of information. The equimpment will provide our police officers with a work area to effectively complete their daily tasks. The completed work will allow for 20 portable work stations iwth IT hook-ups, to include seating - completing a training area for police personnel, in addition to doubling as an alternative location for an emergency operations center.

Quarterly Activities/Project Description Equipment received and put into service. The improved areas have contributed to a quieter and more efficient location for officers to complete their daily tasks. The arrangement of the work areas has provided our Police Officers with a semi-private location, seeming to be a personal or private office – free from the distractions of other activity within the building; while remaining available for use by all. The conference / meeting room furniture additions have provided a positive impact for police staff. Previous meetings had been held in office areas not sufficiently sized or equipped to accommodate personnel. The two meeting rooms have been utilized for Police Staff and Command Staff Meetings; in addition to providing meeting space for a few small community grant work shop groups. The Emergency Operations Room or Training Room continues to be used more frequently due to the portable work stations and seating. The room has provided a location for teleconference meetings, training location and an alternate location for the communities Juvenile Hearing Board. The impact of the 2009 Recovery Act Stimulus Funds have been beneficial to the Police Department in that it provided for a much needed improvement to the facility; while not negatively impacting local budgeting concerns.
