EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
These funds are to be used to help publicly owned and privately owned community public water systems and nonprofit non-community public water systems finance the costs of capital improvements. These capital improvements must be able to achieve and maintain compliance with the SDWA requirements and to further the public health protection objectives of the SDWA. By means of these funds significantly improved drinking water treatment technology will be installed. Aging potable water lines will be replaced. Additionally, 17 pressure release valves & 4 Altitude tank valves will be installed within one of the Territory's large community public water systems for the control of water loss. Between 20% to 60% of water losses, fuel consumption and pumping energy can be reduced.
