Quarterly Activities/Project Description Project Description: Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve overall quality of the program. Upgrades of positions to assure that compensation is adequate to maintain competitive market rates which will retain qualified staff and maintain a quality program. The following projects were listed in the original request, but due to the cut in the State Head Start Supplemental funding (11% cut) they will no longer be funded; an increase to certain support staff in order to maintain competeive market rates and retain our current qualified staff, professional development, and the addition of the follwing positions; 1 bus driver, 2 bus monitor, 2 behavior support staff, and 1 mental health assistant. The funding that will now be used to off set the cut to the State Head Start Supplemental will maintain 159 jobs at their current rates. Quarterly Activities: All staff received a cost of living adjustment July 2009. 10 staff were upgraded in their positions and received a pay increase as of August 3, 2009. As an agency we were able to continue with quality enhancement increases for bus monitors, maintenance starr, and lunch delivery drivers. Two staff also received funding for college course reimbursment. These increases and professional development enhancements will improve the overall program quality.
