WOONSOCKET, CITY OF
The funds were used to cover two change orders that were added site work to a pre-existing contract for the construction of the Woonsocket Middle School and the street reconstruction of Florence Drive, the scope of both change orders involves the grading of surfaces, preparation for asphalt street and walkway paving and sealing, installation of concrete curbing, preparation of beds for planting, laying of sod, planting of shrubs and trees, and mulching of beds. All labor and materials were acquired from within a 50-mile radius of the worksite. The change order does not involve iron, steel, and/or manufactured goods covered under international agreements.

Jobs created include construction drivers, forememan, laborer, machine operator, and carpenter. Recovery funds enabled an employment impact of an additional 1028.50 hours of employment in the standard 40 hour project work week. This is a modified report based on HUD directive (OMB M-10-08) to use no less than 520 hours as the denominator for FTE job calculation (1028.50 total labor hours/510 hours in the quarter = 1.98FTE jobs). Although the time period for the project, according to the contractor, did not exceed 160 actual hours (4 weeks x 40 hours), 160 hours cannot be used in the calculation. Above employees were used for the completion of street reconstruction, streetscape, and landscaping surrounding the Woonsocket Middle School project. |
