BAY CLINIC, INC.
This funding was received to support an increase in demand for health care services for uninsured and underinsured residents of East Hawaii Island. The funding supports partial salaries of a physician, two nurse practitioners, and one dentist to ensure that we are able to provide comprehensive health care services to those most in need during this difficult economic time. These four positions are new as of February 17, 2009 and are supported in part by ARRA funds.

| Description of Jobs Created |
The Increased Demand for Services funding has supported the salaries of one physician (Dr. Adhikary), one Nurse Practitioner (Last Name Preston), another nurse practitioner (Last Name Ball), and one dentist (Dr. Mead). | Infrastructure Purpose and Rationale |
This project addressed the recovery act goal of creating new jobs and saving existing jobs. These funds created 4.08 FTE Jobs since the project start date. Without the recovery act, these jobs would not have been able to be funded. Not only are these positions creating jobs, but in addition, we have hired support staff to support these positions, which are funded through our organization, but support the creation indirectly, of additional jobs. The funding provided by ARRA has created 4.08 jobs, but we estimate is has really helped support over 8 jobs. this is because the jobs created are medical providers, who need a team of people to support the work that they do, from medical assisting, to administration. |
