COMMUNICATIONS DEVELOPMENT, OHIO DEPARTMENT OF
The HPRP is designed to provide financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless (homelessness prevention), or help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized (rapid re-housing). Eligible HPRP activities include financial assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services, data collection and evaluation and administrative costs. Financial Assistance includes rental assistance, security and utility deposits, utility payments, moving cost assistance, and mote/hotel vouchers. Housing Relocation and Stabilization Services may include housing-related case management, outreach and engagement, housing search and placement, legal services, and credit repair.

Funds were awarded to 49 organizations and are intended to prevent homelessness or assist homeless individuals and families move to permanent housing as quickly as possible. As of this quarter, $26.2 million of funds have been committed and expended. |

The direct employment of the Recovery funds will be a result of staffing by grant sub-recipients to administer the new HPRP programs and paid for with HPRP funds. This will result in retention of existing positions that would otherwise have been eliminated and the creation of new positions. Jobs created\retained\sustained have been estimated based on grantee job estimates and the amount and timing of draws made against the awarded grant funds. Based on recent OMB guidance, grantees will be reporting from this point forward on employee hours paid for with HPRP funds to provide more accurate ARRA employment impact accounting. This quarter, HPRP funds were used to pay for 22.66 FTE. |
