| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
During the final quarter of the County of Los Angeles' Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP), no new clients were served. The County concentrated on closeout activities, as client services were completed by the previous quarter. Upon grant conclusion, a total unduplicated count of 3,867 persons and 1,872 households received Housing Relocation and Stabilization Services and Financial Assistance. A total of 2,487 persons left the Homelessness Prevention program for permanent destinations, and 37 persons left for temporary destinations. A total of 873 persons left the Homeless Assistance program for permanent destinations, and 340 persons left for temporary destinations. All clients were exited from the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Throughout the program, the rate of expenditures improved as a result of: the reallocation of funds to Community Based Organizations (CBOs); enhancements to the program; and an expanded service area. All CBOs service contracts ended by December 30, 2011, and County Department and other service providers contracts ended by August 17, 2012. Final agency budgets were reviewed and funds were reallocated to expend the remainder of the grant amount and properly meet closeout guidelines. The County expended 100% of its grant funds by the contract end. The County's Housing Resource Center website remains limited to providing links to other resources available for those still seeking homelessness prevention assistance. The County's data collection and evaluation subrecipient continues to provide technical assistance in assisting the County with meeting final annual reporting requirements. |
| Jobs Created |
1.85 |
| Description of Jobs Created |
During the quarter, a total of 1.85 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Jobs was reported based on the 665.41 hours worked in the County of Los Angeles' Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) and paid with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. The FTE Total Number of Jobs reflected included both Jobs Created and Jobs Retained. Jobs Created this quarter were: 8 Professional - (0.74 FTE). Jobs Retained this quarter were: 4 Officials and Managers - (0.08 FTE); and 10 Professionals - (1.03 FTE). The total of 1.85 FTE for the quarter was determined by dividing 665.41 hours by the quarterly total of 360 hours per (1) FTE. This was the final quarter of the County HPRP, therefore the total number of 360 quarterly hours reflects up to the County's grant end date of August 17, 2012. |
