WEST CONSULTANTS, INC.
The Corps Water Management System (CWMS) is the automated hydrometeorologic data, modeling, and communication system used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Real-time data include river stage, reservoir elevation, gage precipitation, and quantitative precipitation forecasts (QPFs). Hydrologic models are run based on these inputs and appropriate reservoir operations can then be determined. WEST Consultants was recently selected by the Corps of Engineers to develop a new CWMS for the Santa Ana River watershed. Tasks will include developing and calibrating an HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Modeling System) model of the entire watershed, reviewing and revising the Corps? HEC-RAS (River Analysis System) models from Seven Oaks Dam to the Pacific Ocean, developing and testing an HEC-ResSim model for five major dams/reservoirs in the watershed, creating an HEC-FIA (Flood Impact Analysis) model to estimate economic impacts of flood events, and performing real-time testing of the completed CWMS.
