PUERTO RICO DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
THIS GRANT AWARD PROVIDES FUNDS FROM THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT TO ENHANCE STATE VICTIMS COMPENSATION PAYMENTS TO ELIGIBLE CRIME VICTIMS. THE RECOVERY ACT - OVC FY09 VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT VICTIM COMPENSATION FORMULA GRANT PROGRAM PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FEDERAL AND STATE VICTIMS OF CRIMES. THIS PROGRAM REIMBURSE VICTIMS OF CRIME FOR COSTS INCURRED AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE VICTIMIZATION, INCLUDING MEDICAL, MENTAL HEALTH, LOSS WAGE, LOSS OF SUPPORT, AND OTHER ELIGIBLE OUT OF POCKET, CRIME RELATED EXPENSES.
