HARVARD COLLEGE, PRESIDENT & FELLOWS OF
Funds will support 2 new faculty Instructors at Harvard Medical School, to serve at the New England Primate Research Center. These funds will be used to pay for an estimated 2.5 research assistants, and for the needed equipment, supplies and support to make their labs operational. Aims are: 1) accelerate the acquistion of critical proof-of-concept data 2) provide a viable means for early career investigators to pursue new research directions 3) facilitate development of new methodologies and emerging technologies applicable to research using non-human primates and 4) encourage initial investigations that are promising to lead to full scale translational studies in non-human primates. NERPRC core scientists and investigators are in the broad categories of microbiology, immunology, neuroscience, pathology and comparative medicine are all eligible for pilot project support. 4 new projects are planned.
