WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY RESEARCH CORPORATION
These funds provide stipends, tuition, travel and training-related support for two Ph.D. students in the behavioral and biomedical sciences. Provision of these funds allows the students to devote full-time effort to their doctoral training. This includes course work, special journal clubs and seminars, and hands-on research and research training. As suggested in the award statement, the students supported by these funds are newly recruited to the program. Both are starting their second year in their Ph.D. programs, which is the earliest that students can be supported by the T32 since one year of course work and lab rotations must be completed before students can apply for the Research Training Program in Behavioral and Biomedical Sciences. These funds act as an administrative supplement to a partner grant, particularly as stipend support.
