Project Activities Description Weatherization
Quarterly Activities/Project Description Project Description: To reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, & children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health & safety. Quarterly Activities for Subrecipients: Rural CAP: Weatherization work, including boiler replacements & roof repairs, is complete on the following buildings: Orca Point Building A - 16 units, Orca Point Building B - 12 units, Stephen's Park - 160 units, Birch Wood - 57 units, Eaglewood A & B - 16 units, Gruening Park "F" - 8 units, Ravenwood M & N - 16 units, Tlingit-Haida - 8 units, Karluk Manor - 46 units, Channel View - 22 units, Smith Hall - 24 units, McKinnon Apts - 23 units. The following apartment buildings are in various stages: Camlett Apts (47 units) - HVAC & weatherization work done; Hilltop Apts (24 units) & Access Apts (42 units) are complete. Final inspections are scheduled for 4/2/13; Casablanca Apts (28 units) - management is working on applications, but there are not enough qualified; RurAL CAP Affordable Housing (12 units) is income approved. Alaska Community Development Corporation (ACDC): 305 units are reported as complete; 3 projects (15 units) are pending final cost reconciliation; 3 final projects (51 units) are to be in progress with weatherization work soon. This quarter, AHFC's Public Housing Division (PHD) reported closing approximately 800 units throughout the state. The majority of the work includes completion of all thermal and health & safety (H&S) work items in the southeast, interior and Bethel areas. The balance of the work will be completed during the next quarter and will include completion of all thermal & H&S work items. Staff is processing closeout paperwork, conducting post audits and preparing punchlist work items.
