The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, funded for the first time under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This Program, authorized in Title V, Subtitle E of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) and signed into Public Law (PL 110-140) on December 19, 2007, provides funds to units of local and state government, Indian tribes, and territories to develop and implement projects to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions in their communities. The Program is administered by the Office of Weatherization and Intergovernmental Programs (WIP) in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Quarterly Activities/Project Description (Q3-2012)During this quarter all required work and the objective of the grant was completed. We will be returning to the DOE the total amount of $1,470.00. We are working with the final invoice processing and other minimal amount cost for the final and clouse out report. (Q2-2012) During this Quarter the project started with the installation of the luminaries.The Project was 60% completed. The contractor have installed 45 ?Led Kits? in Mendez Vigo Street and 4 lamps and 15 Led Kits in Costa de Oro side road. (Q1-2012) During this quarter the procurement for the installation of LED equipment was performed on march 14,2012 but wasn?t be adjudicated because there were discrepancies in the various quotes and some relevant details must be included in the specifications. Meanwhile, the second procurement will be performed conducting Tuesday, April 17, 2012. In addition, an extension of 90 days was granted by DOE to conclude successfully with the project. (Q4 2011) During this quarter the Municipality with the assistance of the Engineering firm contracted concluded the process of evaluation of contractors to supply LED equipment for the lighting system to be installed. As a result a contractor was selected and a purchase order was issued for the aquisition of the LED equipment for the project. This purchase order is for the amount of $78,078.00 and the Municipality expects the equipment by the month of February 2012 at which time we expect to claim actual cost for this purchase order but The Municipality of Dorado is considerring the possibility to request a time extension for the full compliance of the project and the remaining funds will be used in a bid process for the remaining part of the project including installation. During next quarter the Municipality expects to select a contractor for the installation of the system.
