Quarterly Activities/Project Description Cohort 1- Kaur, 2nd year of employment @ Pinacate Middle School in the Perris USD; will complete the required Noyce service in the 2012-13 AY. Malinchak (BS in Biology in 2012-13AY) will require an extra semester/year to complete the math edu minor & the pre-professional for the sc. credential prg.; continued to work with Dr. Gonzalez on a sc. edu rsearch project on cognitive & conceptual inquiry based general chem lab. Cohort 1- Narcisse & Rutti & Cohort 2- Raihan & Jump work in high need schools since 08/2012, employed @ Monrovia HS, NOVA Academy HS & Marc/Eva Stern Math & Science School. Jump started @ NOVA Academy in 01/2013; participated in the fall Teacher Panel. Narcisse, Rutti & Raihan will complete a sc. edu action rsearch project during their 1st year of teach. Cohort 2-Galan completed the sc. credential prg. @ CSUF in 12/2012; must still complete sc.& sc. edu rsearch projects; look for a job as a 2ndary physics/chem teacher. Hellwig assigned to Anaheim HS for her extern/intern semester in the sc. credential prg. Mahamad will complete a sc. edu rsearch project with Dr. Gonzalez on the effect of a professional dvp prg on faculty & students who participated in a professional dvp wrkshop on innovative labs in general chem in 01/2013; assigned to La Mirada HS for extern & intern semester of the sc. credential prg. Hellwig/Mahamad will complete all sc. credential requirements by 06/2013. Cohort 3-Vu (BS Biology in 05/2013) has to complete a biology edu rsearch project on CLAD diagrams under the supervision of Dr. Bill Hoese; is applying to the sc. credential prg for admission in Fall 2013. Cohort 4- Rizzacasa (M.S. Biology), Velasco (PostBac, Biology) began the intern semester of the sc. credential prg in 01/2013; will complete all sc. credential requirements in 06/2013. Olave decided, after completing the extern semester of the science credential program in 12/2012, to drop out & has agreed to reimburse the University for the Stipend received.
