STTR Phase I: Developing Coupled Quantum Dot Multi-Functional Materials for Optoelectronics Integrated Circuits The proposed research aims to develop semiconductor based multifunctional materials with significantly enhanced EO coefficient and wavelength tunability. This research would provide an enabling material for numerous for large commercial markets including Gigabit optical transceivers, CATV, RF photonic links. In addition, the proposed research allows further investigation of nonlinear optical process in 3-D confined InAs QD heterostructures. This would advance the understanding of the interaction of light with quantum-confined nanostructures.
