WIND RIVER DEVELOPMENT FUND
Native American Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Assistance 2009 Grant-
$730,000 - Financial Assistance: Financial Assistance will be used to provide credit to businesses that have difficulty obtaining loans from traditional banking institutions. Lending funds will be directly focused on individuals enrolled with one of the two Tribes located on the Reservation. The Wind River Indian Reservation lacks traditional banking services for most community members to acquire funding to start up businesses or capital to expand and operate. The Wind River Development Fund seeks to bridge this gap with the financial assistance provided by the CDFI.
$130,002 - Technical Assistance will be used to provide assistance with staff member wages for our organization that are essential to providing lending and business development services within the community. Development services provided by our Organization include general business advising and/or training business owners in specific skill sets necessary to operate their business.
Technical Assistance funding will also be used for staff and board members to attend the Opportunity Finance Network conference. Conference attendance will provide the opportunity to staff and board members to gain insight from other CDFI certified organizations that have become successful, and to stay up to date on new standards promulgated.
