Quarterly Activities/Project Description The project is fully operational, with full enrollment, wait lists and service delivery in Island Pond, Canaan and Creative Minds Children?s Center (CMCC) in Newport Center, VT. We are serving 10 EHS children in Canaan, 9 in Island Pond, and 8 in Creative Minds Children?s Center. All families have completed the Family Partnership Agreement and families have identified and are working on goals in the areas of Financial Literacy, Adult Education, Employment, Transportation, Housing, Food and Health Insurance. Referrals to support family goals, strengths, needs and interests have been made. Outcomes from the referrals: Family is connected to the Family Court system; Family is connected to VT Family Matters; 1 Dad received his Driver?s License and the family has purchased a vehicle; A family now has adult health insurance and ?3 Squares? food assistance; A mom attends NEK Learning Services and is working on her GED; 6 families completed a budgeting class at the NEKCA outreach services; 3 families have found employment and 2 are now receiving child care subsidy; 1 family received counseling for domestic abuse issues. 1 parent is pursuing education for a Nursing Degree-(update-has put her education on hold at this time); another parent, the father, is now enrolled in Community College of Vermont; one family was accepted for low income housing and one other family is pursuing financial backing to purchase a home. All children have had a developmental and sensory screenings and the developmental assessments have been initiated and are ongoing, with child development goals established by the parents and supported by the staff. Children have been referred for speech and developmental concerns; children that were previously referred and who were found eligible under Part C continue to receive special services to enhance their growth and development.
