EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY INC
EWU Early Head Start reviewed its recently completed FY2009 Technical Assistance and Training Plan and looked for opportunities to enhance those activities in a way that would permanently increase the capacity of the organization to provide higher quality, meaningful EHS services and that would prepare the organization to meet or exceed anticipated Federal criteria for EHS staff members. Therefore, EWU EHS will utilize the funds in the following manner: 1. To help ally the costs of increased rent for the Colville Center. 2. Family Service Worker credentials to implement a program wide initiative to have all staff involved with family services to receive the Social Services Competency Based Training Credential through Portland State University to enhance the individual skills of staff and to create a culture and system to support enhanced family services in the program. 3. To conduct a comprehensive re-orientation for all EWU EHS staff to the EHS individualization system that supports the child family EHS experience. 4. Updated training on the Ages and Stages Screening Tools and process to allow staff to become skilled in the newest ASQ3 screening tool provided by staff from the University of Oregon who developed the screening tools. 5. Technical assistance and training on EHS socialization experiences and Parent-Teacher conferences by long-term EHS trainer and consultant from Portland State University who would provide on-site support.
