WHITE MOUNTAIN APACHE TRIBE
This project will help to protect the communities of Cibecue, Carrizo and Ceder Creek on the Ft. Apache Indian reservation from the threat of future catastophic fire and will help to restore this community wildland interface that continues to suffer from the effects of past fires.Hazard fuel reduction is planned on 2500 acres of timber and erosion control and watershed enhancement measures will be applied on 5k acres of land.

Third Quarter Hazard Fuel / Restoration Narrative
The following is the Final Progress Report
• Seeding- 1936.1 acres seeded final total
• Hazard Fuel Reduction- Final total of 1789.2 completed of 3560 acres.
• Log Erosion Barriers- completed 910.7 acres of 3,800 acres. Remaining acres deferred due to high revegetation.
• Culverts- Final total of 65 was treated
• Fencing- 110 miles repaired
• Farms- 25 sites completed. Transplanting of farm sites with 888 willow and cottonwood trees.
• Cultural (a) 16 of 19 cemeteries treated rest deferred
• Cultural (b) springs- 41 springs treated
• Channels- hazard tree removal of 40.8 miles
• Bank Stabilization 28 sites treated out of 35. Final total of 817 riffle bars.
A short crew started on the Hazard Fuel Reduction to expend remaining funds starting the last week of this quarter. A target of 32 acres is scheduled to be treated and piled. Crews also recon project area for piles that need to be re-piled. Crews were able to treat and pile 12 acres in the Cibecue community and 48 acres in the Cedar Creek community in the month of October 2012.
Additional assessments were documented thru out the project area for future funding where needed.

Administrative staff positions oversee; finances, reporting, property and procurement, training, implementation of rules and regulations, management of human resources.
Operations staff - timekeeping, layout of projects, request supplies, provide project oversight, on-the-job training, provide bi-weekly reports on projects, workout logistics for all projects and liason between admin and field staff.
Supervisors - direct oversight of crew, time recording, equipment inventories, weekly project report and safety meetings.
Crew members - day to day operation and maintainence of equipment needed for projects.
