The goal of this project is to develop a manual on "Best Practice Standards on the Delivery of Sexual Assault Services in Hawaii." Such standards are an important component in delivering comprehensive and quality services for victims/survivors of sexual violence. Project objectives are as follows: 1) to identify Hawaii's and other states' practices/standards on the delivery of sexual assault services. This review of practices/standards will include, but not be limited to, the following services areas: confidentiality; facilities; personnel; quality assurance; core service: 24/7 crisis intervention; core service: therapy; core service: medical advocacy; core service: legal advocacy; core service: system coordination; core service: prevention, information/awareness; 2) to convene meetings of community stakeholders to: a)review Hawaii's and other states' practices/standards; and b) identify best practice standards for Hawaii; 3) to develop a manual on "Best Practice Standards on the Delivery of Sexual Assault Services in Hawaii"; and 4) to convene informational sessions on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island to brief community stakeholders on "Best Practice Standards on the Delivery of Sexual Assault Services in Hawaii."
