SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS 2009; Greenfield Recovery Act JAG Project; The major goal of this project is to reduce operational expenditures and increase departmental efficiencies in order to continue to provide adequate services to the residents of Greenfield in a time of shrinking budgets, reduced staffing and increased expenses and requests for service. The equipment to be purchased as part of this project will allow the department to augment personnel with technologies to continue to provide baseline services and address issues pertaining to crime and quality of life concerns for the citizens of the community. The department has had on-going meetings and discussions with the Office of the Mayor, the Public Safety Commission and members of the Town Council to formulate ways to realign functions and policies to insure service delivery. This process will continue and be expanded to include other groups and members of the general public. Evaluation of processes and procedures will continue throughout the life of this award to establish project effectiveness.
