SANTA CLARA VALLEY WATER DISTRICT
Cooperative Agreement between the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) to construct the Lower Silver Creek Unit 6B Channel Improvement Measures, consisting of: Approximately 2,500 lineal feet of channel improvement work between Moss Point Drive and Cunningham Avenue in accordance with the approved construction plans and specifications. Specific work to be done includes: excavation of approximately 11,300 cubic yards of soil, clearing and grubbing; construction of four access ramps; application of armoring aggregate along the east side of the channel for maintenance access; applicaton of hydroseding and placement of biodegradable erosion control blanket for new graded channel banks; and removal of portions of existing pipes, including sacked concreted outfall structures, and constructing new rock slope protections at the same outfalls. All creek modifications are being designed to ultimately meet the overall goal of conveying the 1% design flow in the future.
