PUBLIC WELFARE, PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF
Establishing a State Advisory Council on Early Childhood Education Care to improve coordination and collaboration among early childhood education care and services. Funds are disbursed to direct hires or through the PA Key, who provides statewide leadership in the development of an integrated and coordinated system of program quality improvement and professional development supports for early childhood education. Project activities and goals include: (1) a unified data system by enhancing help desk and technical assistance and quality contral functions for the Early Learning Network (ELN) and Pennsylvania's Enterprise to Link Information for Children Across Networks (PELICAN) system; (2) professional development; (3) birth to five and K-12 continuum and transition including supports for local school board leadership as well as early childhood and school system leaders and teachers; (4) early eduction provider capacity to promote public awareness of early childhood eduction; and (5) parental involvement in early education.
