| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
There have been several projects ongoing with EECBG to assist American Samoa with Energy Conservation through audits by AMEL, continuation of monitoring of Energy usage through higher Energy efficient electrical components such as Air Condition units, lights, insulation for walls to prevent heat intrusion from outside plus trap cold air from escaping which are products being initiated through three main EECBG projects. Lighting Retrofit, Insullation to all Government Buildings and HVAC for A/C unit replacement and upgrading vents, electrical wiring and componentns to keep A/C units running in Governemnt buildings low on consumption. The building energy code has completed and is pending Legislature review so it can be signed into law. However, the first training was held and publiciaed on the news paper for the public review. Equipment has been ordered for the Recycling program and is enroute, and trainign completed by Everblue (Leading Energy Trainees) to around 15 participants made up of several Government departments for certification. |

LEED Building for American Samoa is almost complete. The expected opening date is before November 2012, as per information and updates provided by EPA's project Engineer Tim Bodell. Amel Technology have completed their Commercial Audits for additional buildings added by TEO, and are finalizing work with the EPA Green building in terms of schematics and design with contractor. Also awarded this quarter was a contract for a Recycling Program for plastics, glass, and aluminum cans which was awarded to local company GHC Reid, local distributor for all Beverages. Contract is finalized, and work to commence soon. |
