HARRIS, COUNTY OF
This grant award will be used to purchase chillers and associated equipment needed to construct the North Bayou Central Plant in downtown Houston. This central plant will provide additional capacity and redundancy in Harris County's heating and cooling infrastructure, will curb emissions, and will result in more efficient use of energy. The grant will also indirectly result in the creation of an estimated 248 construction jobs and 7 permanent jobs.

This is the FINAL report for this grant. Move-in, Punch List, and final pay estimate has all been accomplished. The Certificate of Occupancy has been received. All Funds were drawn down at last report and the project is complete. Close-Out procedures have commenced. This was a well done project with tremendous help from the Department of Energy and most especially, the Project Manager, Mr. Mitchell Duran of the Golden, CO office.

The expenditure for this quarter involved construction-type jobs for installation of ARRA funded procurement of project equipment. The impact of ARRA funds was to allow the the project to move from the drawing board to the actual construction phase. By the use of ARRA funding, the project moved into reality therefore creating jobs as described in the application (7 permanent jobs upon completion of the project and 241 temporary jobs throughout the construction phase). |
