ALLISON TRANSMISSION, INC.
The overall objective for Project Hybrid Truck Drive is to increase U.S. capacity to
manufacture two cost-efficient, fuel-efficient, fast-to-market hybrid systems for the commercial truck market, utilizing as many production ready components and subcomponents as possible to lower overall system costs and accelerate time to market. The recipient will apply its hybrid design expertise to automatic
transmissions and integrate
these transmissions with other
hybrid drive components to
manufacture a commercial ready
hybrid system for original
equipment manufacturer (OEM)
customers.

Plant 16 is currently build ready and capable of manufacturing and assembling H 3000 Hybrid Units. The H 3000 Inverter bulk caps have passed testing and PV validation has begun. PV validation is ongoing for the DCDC Converter with no issues. Four EMachine motors are currently running performance testing with new insulation system incorporated with no issues. H 3000 HV Hardware is being procured for the May 15th build. Coke H 3000 equipped customer test vehicle is complete and resulted in a successful showing at the Green Summit/Truck Show. PG&E customer test vehicle re-gear is in process. The H 4000 tooling will be procured for low volume assembly capability and final testing will be conducted on the production test stand. H 4000 DV Hardware is being procured for the May 20th build. Allison and Key Supplier Engineering Departments continue product validation to deliver the Allison Transmission Brand Promise of unrivaled Quality, Reliability, and Vocational Value. |

Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) consist of a variety of outside contractors supporting various facility-related activities, and Allison personnel, including manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, hybrid programs management, materials management, facilities management, executive management and contract administration. The activity associated with the grant funding has provided numerous opportunities for our hourly and salaried personnel to not only retain, but expand their job responsibilities and further their experiences in the Allison workforce. Installation continues in the facility employing our hourly labor personnel with various projects. |
