SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
South Coast Air Quality Management District was awarded a Clean Cities FY 09 Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector program grant to: 1)fund a public-accessible LNG refueling station on a segment of a primary national distribution channel, 2)to deploy 48 heavy-duty LNG vehicles, and 3)to educate the community about the project and the benefits of LNG. The general purpose of the grant is to expand the use of alternative fueled vehicles to reduce dependence on petroleum, to increase the community's awareness and knowledge of LNG, to improve air quality, and to create jobs.

Las Vegas LNG Station:
The station is finished, open, and dispensing fuel as planned. The station dispensed 150,321.2 DEGs of LNG fuel at an average price of $2.99/gallon during the reporting period.
LNG Vehicle Deployment: Forty-eight LNG trucks were deployed during 4th Q 2011 and are in service. During the quarter, they were monitored and performance data was gathered.
Outreach:
Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) continued the development/implementation of their marketing and outreach strategy. Completed work on a web tool to map stations along corridors. Script and production development work continued for the Public Service Announcement campaign.
Eastern Sierra Regional Clean Cities Coalition completed their outreach activities in 1st quarter 2012. |
