Contracts - AWARD SUMMARY
RYAN COMPANIES US, INC.
The Bishop Henry Whipple Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Renovations & Alterations Project is to infuse ARRA funding into the local Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota economy by funding needed mechanical, electrical, fire protection & plumbing renovation work (and associated architectural revisions) in the Whipple Building, located at One Federal Drive, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. The renovations are required to replace original equipment installed 40 years ago with modern, energy efficient equipment that will decrease operating costs. Once the renovations are completed, the project will have infused excessive funds into the local economy, protected & created hundreds of jobs, provide energy efficient & code compliant systems, installed one of the largest geothermal heating/cooling system, eliminate hazardous materials from the building, building will comply with ADA standards, provide over 600,000 square feet of new or renovated public & office space and will service the American people for another 50 years.

JANUARY:Demolition, abatement, overhead hangers & rough-ins and fireproofing continue on Levels Ground &1. Wall framing & electrical rough-ins began on Level 1. Window installation began on Levels 1 and Ground. Overhead rough-ins were installed in the Level 2 east mechanical room. Penetrations were prepared for opening in the west mechanical room. Epoxy floors were installed in the Elevator Penthouse. Miscellaneous mechanical work continued in the Basement. FEBRUARY:Demolition, abatement, overhead hangers & rough-ins and fireproofing continued on Levels 1 & Ground. Window installation continued on Levels 1 & Ground. Electrical rough-ins continued and sheet rocking, taping & sanding began on Levels 1 & Ground. Structural steel modifications for the Grand Stairs began on Level 1. Overhead rough-ins continued & concrete infills began in the Level 2 east mechanical room. Overhead rough-ins began in the west mechanical room. Miscellaneous mechanical work continued in the Basement. MARCH: Demolition, abatement, overhead & rough-ins and fireproofing continued on Levels Ground & 1. Window installation continued on Levels 1 & Ground. Electrical rough-ins, sheet rocking, taping and sanding continued on Levels 1 & Ground. Painting , ceiling grid & ceiling tile installation began on Level 1. Overhead rough-ins continued & concrete infills began in the Level 2 east mechanical room. Overhead rough-ins continued & mechanical pads were poured in the west mechanical room. Miscellaneous mechanical work continued in the Basement. Sitework has been on seasonal stop for the past 3 months. |
