SCIENCE SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS, INC.
This task order supports the Climate Absolute Radiance and Refractivity Observatory (CLARREO) Mission Concept study being conducted by NASA Langley Research Center in accordance with NASA Space Flight Program and Project Management Requirements (NPR) 7120.5.. CLARREO is a Tier 1 Decadal Survey Earth Science mission, as determined by the National Research Council. The CLARREO mission involves the measurement of spectrally resolved thermal Infrared and reflected solar radiation at high absolute accuracy. Coupled with measurements from on-board Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) radio occultation (RO) receivers, these measurements will provide a long-term benchmarking data record for the detection, projection, and attribution of changes in the climate system. The contractor shall provide input to the CLARREO Mission Concept study team as they develop a mission concept for presentation to a review board at a Mission Concept Review (MCR) which is planned for late February 2010. The MCR will assess the scientific robustness and technical and programmatic feasibility of the CLARREO mission proposed by the study team.
