ROLLING HILLS RESEARCH CORP
This contract is a Phase 2 Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program that seeks to develop an innovative sensor system that can detect separated flow over a wide range of flight or ground test conditions. The Phase 1 program demonstrated the feasibility of the sensor concept up to a Mach number of 0.3. To be truly useful, the sensor must be modified to operate at transonic speeds in a flight environment. The sensor system will also be integrated into an array, which will be mounted with its data acquisition and recording electronics on an adhesive film. A prototype of the sensor array and electronics will be delivered to NASA at the end of this contract.
