Project Title Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Geothermal heat and air conditioning improvements.
Project Status Completed
Final Project Report Submitted Yes
Project Activities Description All Other Outpatient Care Centers
Quarterly Activities/Project Description The Geothermal Expansion was completed 8/26/2010. This completion was marked by the balancing of the existing well field and the expansion field by the contractor. It was thus noted that when the well field system in totality was placed into service that there was no additional water being added to the geothermal system by the metered water make up system resident in the building design. Visual inspections of the two vaults also verified no leaks in them. It has been noted that the well field temperature of the total system has dropped to a wet bulb in line thermometer reading of 80 degree F and a Johnson Controls extrapolated reading of 79.1 degree F average. Presenting waiting for the new field and the old field to stabilize temperature, this may take several weeks to occur in totality. Prior to this expansion these temperatures of the well field were commonly above 90 degrees F and reaching upward of 98 degrees. This expansion will prove to be very beneficial to this facility by greatly increasing the efficiency of the heat exchangers of the building and lowering operating temperatures of the system which will in turn increase life maintenance replacements of the components.
