WV COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Goal 1: Continue and expand statewide collaboration addressing policy and practice when responding to victims of domestic violence with children.
Objective 1: Coordinate cross disciplinary training to enhance and strengthen policy and practice in a way that guides safe and effective responses to victims of domestic violence with children and victims of dating violence.
Objective 2: Plan, host, and coordinate statewide Domestic Violence Definitions Committee.
Objective 3: Develop, revise and replenish educational materials addressing batterers impact on safety of battered women with children.
Objective 4: Develop a process for measuring statewide policy outcomes on victims of domestic violence with children.
Goal Number 2: Provide support in day-to-day operations of the statewide office that enable coalition staff to accomplish the mission of the West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence by: coordinating mailing list communication, assisting in the coordination of meetings and trainings, maintaining comprehensive calendar of staff activity and Coalition events, preparing routine correspondence, answering incoming coming calls, and coordinating volunteer project.

WVCADV met the goals of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 by creating a new Office Manager position and by retaining the Protective Services Coordinator position. In doing so WVCADV stimulated the economy by employing two persons in the work of ending violence against women. WVCADV enhanced its capacity to: provide technical assistance to member programs, create resources for domestic violence programs and government agencies, coordinate statewide trainings, and support for the Coalition Office.
Number of jobs created due to Recovery Act funding: New Hire - The part-time Office Manager spends 25 hours per week managing the office database and multiple mailing lists, monitoring adequate supplies for Coalition office and equipment, sending memos to programs, answering incoming calls, sorting daily mail to appropriate staff persons; maintaining a comprehensive calendar of staff activity, etc. Number of jobs retainted due to Recovery Act funding: Retained Position - The Protective Services Coordinator coordinates the Survivors with Children Study and Policy Workgroup, coordinates training efforts with WV DHHR and relevant agencies addressing survivors with children and participating in statewide initiatives assisting survivors with children. |
