Quarterly Activities/Project Description	This award supports the purpose of the Teacher Incentive Program by providing funding to an LEA to assist in implementing a performance-based compensation system for teachers and principals in high-needs schools. The expected outcomes of the Alaska TIF project are increased student achievement in mathematics and increased teacher skill for teaching mathematics. Another anticipated outcome is increased teacher retention in some of the hardest to fill and retain communities in rural Alaska. During the 3rd quarter of 2010, 136 teacher and principals were paid performance incentives for student SBA score gains, writing Individual Learning Plans with students,Mentoring, Tutoring, Performance Evaluation, Tuition Reimbursement, and Highly Qualified in Math status.
