| Quarterly Activities/Project Description |
The purpose of this ARRA grant is to help fund the installation of a sanitary sewer, water lines, and associated infrastructure to serve approximately 19 home sites on the Vermilion Lake Reservation.
2nd quarter of 2010:
The project was put out on bid May 27th - Ulland Brothers was the low bid and therefore awarded the contract. The contract documents have been drafterd and are being reviewed by USDA Rural Development, which is another funding partner on the project. A pre-construction meeting was held on June 25th and construction started on July 1st.
The Participation Agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers was signed on October 19,2009. This ARRA funded project is part of a larger infrastructure project being funded through USDA Rural Development (non-ARRA funds). We are in the process of completing the project plans, specifications and resolving a potential wetland impact issue. This is expected to be resolved and plans and specs ready to be issued for bidding purposes in March 2010. Construction activities are expected to commence in May 2010.
3rd quarter of 2010:
The construction activities began in July and are procedding according to the project schedule. The ARRA funded portion of this large project is just starting to really takeoff. There was very little activity on this portion.
4th quarter of 2010:
All of the main line water & sewer lines have been installed. The project is now shutdown for the winter and will resume in May or June, depending on the weather. Remaining service line connections and general clean-up and system commissioning will be completed next summer.
1st quarter of 2011:
There was no work done on this project due to the weather conditions. We expect work to resume within the next couple months, weather permitting.
2nd qtr of 2011:
We were able to resume work in early June and were able to complete the work being paid with the ARRA funds. |
