As part of the TAS program, 21-2022 this project original award consists of the renovation of seven (7) barracks buildings located at Ft. Riley, Kansas, in Congressional District 02. The buildings included in this TAS Order: VOLAR Barracks 8008, VOLAR Barracks 8040, VOLAR Barracks 8042, VOLAR Barracks 8048, VOLAR Barracks, 8050, VOLAR Barracks 8052 and VOLAR Barracks 8054. There are two sizes of barracks. Two of the barracks to be renovated, Barracks 8042 and 8052, are 22,700 square feet each and the remaining five barracks to be renovated are 11,549 square feet each. Renovation includes the removal of the existing roofs, which will be replaced with a rubberized TPO roofing over 5" of insulation; existing rooftop mechanical units will be removed and replaced with new mechanical units; solar panels will also be installed on each of the roofs, which will be utilized to produce an energy source to make up heating water; interior of the existing barracks will be demo'd to renovate the individual pod living quarters from three bedrooms to two bedrooms. The new living areas will consist of an indvidual bedroom, an individual kitchenette with cooktop and microwave, individual bathrooms with new low consumption fixtures, new bathtub and shower head with acrylic tub surround, and individual closets; each of the living units will include a ceiling fan that has been refurbished; new VCT flooring will be installed throughout except the bathroom which shall receive ceramic tile flooring; new kitchen cabinets will be installed with a solid surface countertop and staniless steel kitchen sink; each living quarter will be supplied with an independent heating/cooling fan coil unit which can only be accessed from the common corridor; all existing windows will be renovated with new gaskets and seals or replaced as required; each barracks building will include updated fire sprinkler system and all new fire alarm systems; new HVAC ductwork will be installed throughout each of the barracks buildings; Other descriptions of this project include the design of all renovations. During the 1st Quarter of 2010 three modifications were made to this award; The first modification includes the renovation of all existing mechanical rooms consisting of removal of all existing mechanical equipment and replacement with all new effecient mechanical equipment. This will include all new boilers, water heaters, pumps and storage tanks. The second mod consisted of mold remediation in Bldg. 8048, an ARRA Funded Bldg. The third mod includes the demolition of all existing concrete stairs and handrails and replacing these with metal pan stairs that will be filled with concrete and covered with rubber treads. New code compliant handrails and wall rails will be installed to replace the existing that were removed. **No contract modifications were executed in the 2nd reporting period of 2010. During the third quarter of 2010 there were four contract modifications issued. The first mod this quarter was a deductive change order to remove the rubber treads and risers from the newly installed stairs and replace with skid reistant aluminum nosings. The second contract mod this quarter was an add change order to add chilled water flow switches to the service entering the mechanical rooms. The third modification this quarter was an add change order to replace all existing mechanical and electrical room hollow metal doors/frames and hardware. The fourth contract modification this quarter was an add change order to replace all existing aluminum store front entry door hardware. There were no contract modifications issued in the 4th Qtr/2010. There were no contract modifications in the 1st Qtr/2011.
