Phase I archeological and geomorphoplogical investigation for the construction work limits of the proposed Rathbun Lake North Shore Trail. The project areas consisted of a trail corridor, two rectangulat trail heads, 10 irregularly shaped drainage crossing areas, and six proposed borrow areas. The areas examined totaled 31.6 ha (78.1 ac). This investigation resulted in the recording of seven archeological sites (two historic and five prehistoric). The historic sites are an artifact scatter interpreted to be a short-term expedient dump and a non-residential structural remnant thought to date to the twentieth century. the prehistoric sites are all interpreted to be single occupation bivouacs and noe produced diagnostic artifacts. All of the sites are recommended as not eligible for lsited to the National Register of Historic Places. No further work was recommended for the entirety of the Rathbun Lake North Shore Trail corridor, two trail heads, 10 drainage crossings, and six borrow areas.
